Since joining the Ontario Public Service in February 2011, Helga has been an active leadership figure in championing ServiceOntario’s strong brand reputation for customer service throughout the province. She is known for connecting with each individual under her wing to make them feel special, and that takes a certain kind of leadership.
Helga came to the provincial government from Rogers, where she was Vice President of Customer Care for 12 years, and prior to that spent 25 years with Bell Canada. Helga’s past experience in the private sector at both Rogers and Bell has left her with a strong legacy of service delivery, and her experience has been instrumental in helping to ensure that customers are able to receive service wherever and however they find it easiest. Throughout her career, her greatest joy has always come from working with individuals and teams - helping them to recognize their true potential, and then supporting them as they strive to fully realize that potential. Helga’s focus on personal empowerment brings out the best in others.
She believes that being successful in the OPS requires the same qualities needed to be successful anywhere. By having the “three wills” — the will to learn, the will to practice new skills and the will to follow through on commitments, anyone can be successful and enjoy a career rich in diverse opportunities.”
